IT Support, Systems Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a Level 3 Data Center Technician to join our IT team at a hyperscale environment. The role involves maintaining the data center’s IT system, troubleshooting, performing server installations, ensuring uninterrupted network services, and deploying GPUs.
ScheduleB side Nights:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Every other Wednesday 6pm – 6am.
- Perform tasks listed under Level 1 & 2 as needed.
- Move, inspect, and install servers and switches; cable them according to wire maps; ensure cables are bundled and meet standards.
- Audit servers and consumables; troubleshoot various server issues; order replacement parts; install them; ship defective parts to vendors.
- Update firmware; configure IP addresses and login credentials on servers.
- Assist network admins with cable replacement, re‑routing, optics changes, and upgrading components.
- Temporarily rack and stack a server or switch; provide remote access for configuration.
- Deploy and configure GPUs in servers; perform break‑fix tasks related to GPUs.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting support and resolution of tickets.
- Serve as the initial liaison between team members and management.
- Prioritize and manage workload across the team; review build documentation; direct build activities.
- Ensure projects align with data center standards; monitor deadlines; provide status updates to project managers.
- Provide thought leadership to aid program growth.
- Manage multiple simultaneous projects under high stress.
- Ensure compliance with safety measures and data center standards.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Flexibility to work non‑standard business hours (weekends/holidays).
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds; climb ladders; wear PPE.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility for extended periods.
- 4+ years of experience in a hyperscale environment.
- CompTIA A+ or equivalent.
- CompTIA Server+ or equivalent.
- CCENT or equivalent.
- Windows OS experience.
- CCNA certification preferred.
- MCP/MSCE certification preferred.
- Scripting experience (Power Shell, Python, Bash).
- Structured cabling, rack & stack, fiber, optical testing.
- Storage devices knowledge.
- Ticketing system management.
- ITIL Framework familiarity (ITSM, Change, Problem).
- Network fundamentals (OSI Layers 1‑3).
- Copper and fiber optic cabling installation and termination.
- GPU deployment and troubleshooting.
- OSHA‑30 or higher certification.
Contract position based out of Mount Pleasant, WI.
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $36.30 – $36.30/hr benefits (full list included below).
