Datacenter Technician – IT Department
One of TEKsystems clients is looking for multiple qualified candidates to support their IT department's Datacenter Technician team. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills within IT and advance your career.
Shift Details- Side Days:
Sunday–Tuesday & every other Wednesday, 6 AM–6 PM - Side Nights:
Sunday–Tuesday & every other Wednesday, 6 PM–6 AM - B Side Days:
Thursday–Saturday & every other Wednesday, 6 AM–6 PM - B Side Nights:
Thursday–Saturday & every other Wednesday, 6 PM–6 AM
- Prepare, stage, set up, start up, and shut down equipment (racks, hard drives, switches) per instructions, checklists, and protocols.
- Perform post‑execution quality checks; verify grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling meet safety protocols and deployment standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues quickly, identifying causes and replacing faulty components.
- Decommission IT hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds).
- Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to Datacenter Technician Leads.
- Move servers and switches to required locations, inspect for damage, install, cable, and bundle per wire maps.
- Audit servers and consumables; configure IP addresses and default login credentials.
- Assist network admins with troubleshooting, cable changes, component replacements, firmware updates, GPU deployment, and remote configuration.
- Support other related tasks as needed.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Flexibility to work non‑standard business hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Previous datacenter experience is a plus.
- CompTIA certifications desirable.

$33.00 – $35.00 per hour (temporary position).
