Maintains product levels and quality control in produce and floral departments. Ensures fresh fruits and vegetables are displayed per company standards and regulatory food safety practices. Promotes customer service and sales building practices.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Maintain full stock conditions on produce and floral display racks, tables, and shelves.
- Operate pallet jack to unload product from warehouse trucks and reload trucks with return items.
- Ensure dated product is stocked, rotated, or discarded properly if unsold.
- Inspect product for quality and maintain quality control and food safety standards.
- Collect empty cardboard boxes and other trash and place into bailer.
- Assist customers and partners by responding to price check questions and locating product.
- Promote product sales through suggestive selling initiatives.
- Provide a friendly, customer‑service‑oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and responding to complaints.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to company safety procedures and policies.
- Practice high sanitary standards for handling raw and uncooked food products.
- Repair, clean, assemble, and prepare equipment for operation and examine working order under supervision. (Partners must be 18+)
- Take precautionary safety measures when using equipment and work tools.
- Use sharp tools for opening boxes and cut and trim product to ensure high‑quality presentation and appearance.
Skills And Abilities
- Operate manual or electric pallet jack.
- Safely operate and maintain department equipment.
- Handle objects carefully to avoid damage to items, people, vehicles, and property.
- Work safely with sharp objects such as knives and box cutters.
- Multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Work well with partners and promote a team environment.
- Learn new technology systems, methods and processes using educational resources.
- Work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Be attentive to potential hazards, remedy or place warning signs as appropriate, and report hazards that cannot be remedied to a supervisor.
- Minimum of 18 years of age required.
- Must be 18 years of age to operate and clean motorized equipment.
- Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for company business.
- Food handler certification required.
- Typically involves on‑the‑job training.
- Require close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
- Require standing or walking.
- Require hands for reaching, touching, or handling.
- Lifting objects up to 40 lb continuously, occasionally up to 75 lb.
- Bending, kneeling, or squatting continuously.
- Talk and hear frequently.
- Climb, balance, stoop, or crawl occasionally.
- Exposed to outside temperatures and weather occasionally.
- Attendance at work required.
- Work performed in a retail store.
- Occasionally exposed to extreme cold conditions (non‑weather).
- Occasionally exposed to wet, slippery or damp conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to cleaning agents.
- Quiet to moderate noise level.
