Position SummaryThe Occupational Therapy Assistant provides services under the general supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist, including assisting with patient assessment, treating individual patients and patient groups, delivering home program, patient and family instruction, and participating in family and team conferences. The OT Assistant conducts equipment inventories and maintenance and documents services according to hospital and departmental standards.
Essential Functions- Instructs and prepares the patient for treatment.
- Applies/conducts appropriate modality/intervention.
- Informs the patient of the treatment process.
- Records patient treatments on charts.
- Provides information to the supervising OTR and physicians.
- Establishes/maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients.
- Provides information to supervisor as directed.

- Assists in maintaining logs, charge tickets and reports.
- Designs and instructs patients in home programs.

- Monitors stock levels and orders supplies as needed.
- Assists with the maintenance of equipment.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
- Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
- One year experience as a Licensed Occupational Therapist Assistant preferred.
- Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of Texas required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire date.
