• Provide dog training services to customers.
• Offer board and train, private and group training, and specialty training as allowed by facility and business constraints.
• Recommend retail items appropriate for training sessions (e.g., leads, collars, lure treats).
• Follow the specified training program outlines.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries.
• Promote services in center events and veterinary clinics.
• Deliver excellent customer service tailored to dog owners’ needs.
• Keep manager and customer service staff updated on class offerings.
• Maintain training schedules and enter them in the system.
• Keep training areas clean, cleaning after use.
• Handle dogs appropriately in the center.
• Report pet, health, or customer concerns to the Center Manager promptly.
• Collaborate with the Canine Interactive Services Manager to grow center business and support the training program.
• Uphold Best Friends’ mission, values, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
• Complete Safe Handling training.

• Appropriate education in dog training through schooling or internship with a professional dog trainer.
• Minimum of 2 years professional dog training experience.

• Ability to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends per schedule.
• Ability to frequently lift 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs within full shifts.
• Will work on computer system.
• Exposure to disinfectants, animal dander, and excretions acceptable.

• Solid dog training skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Love of animals.
• Must not compete directly with Best Friends or solicit its customers for personal business.

• Minimal, required for business outreach and events.
