Position Summary- Under the direction of the Department Director and/or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, effective, and patient-centered nursing care.
- The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the healthcare needs of all assigned patients across the lifespan—from infant to geriatric—unless otherwise indicated.
- This role involves collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team and focuses on delivering high-quality care aligned with unit and hospital goals.
- Must be flexible and willing to float to comparable nursing units as needed.
- Strong knowledge of general nursing theories and practices
- Ability to manage and teach others effectively
- Demonstrates initiative and independent judgment within scope of practice
- Sound decision-making in complex or high-pressure situations
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Professionalism, tact, and discretion when interacting with patients, families, and physicians
- Adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours, including irregular shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Capable of assuming Charge Nurse responsibilities when requested
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of South Carolina
- Successful completion of hospital-based nursing orientation program
- IV Therapy training and/or demonstrated competency within one year of hire
- Completion of annual Skills Fair and required departmental competency checklists
- Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, and PALS recommended
- Advanced certification in specialty area and/or active membership in a professional organization strongly encouraged
