Overview

The Ambulatory Registered Nurse II provides clinical nursing care to the patient and works alongside the provider team and other clinical staff during the patient’s clinic appointment. This includes utilizing the nursing process, order entry, providing patient education, assisting with procedures, charting in the EMR (EPIC), managing patient in-basket messages, and coordination of care.

• Provide clinical nursing care during patient clinic appointments as part of the provider team and other clinical staff.
• Utilize the nursing process, enter orders, educate patients, assist with procedures, chart in EPIC, manage patient in-basket messages, and coordinate care.
• Support and participate in care coordination and interprofessional collaboration to optimize patient outcomes.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by addressing questions and providing appropriate education.

• Registered Nurse minimum requirements:
  Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred; RN hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma in nursing must enroll in an accredited BSN program within two years and obtain a BSN within four years of hire or reclassification.
• Minimum one year of work experience as a registered nurse.
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

• Physical and mental requirements include standing, sitting, walking, stair climbing, endurance for various postures and movements, lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted, and other modalities listed in the original description.
• Ability to work with rotating shifts, overtime as required, and in a latex-safe environment; selected positions may require respirator qualification.
