Overview
Ultrasound Tech - Mt Pleasant Emergency Care Center Ultrasound Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The technologist must be able to handle the movement, setup, and operation of medical ultrasound equipment. Flexibility to work other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required is expected.
The technologist should troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure are encouraged. The technologist will adhere to and maintain the imaging competencies outlined by management and behave in alignment with the organization s mission, values, and culture.

- Ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and standards of care as required by state and federal agencies, the hospital, and regulatory entities.
- Perform examinations/procedures as needed to assist in patient throughput within the scope of licensure, certifications, and documented competencies.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses as needed or required.
- Ensure completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS; follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate issues as needed.
- Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions to the Director/Manager and Biomedical personnel and follow up as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education/
Skills:
Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or acceptable equivalent. - Experience:
1 year of ultrasound scanning experience preferred. - Basic Computer Experience Required.
- Licenses, Registrations, or
Certifications:
Within 1 year of hire, one of the following:
Sonography (S) by ARRT;
Abdomen (AB) RDMS by ARDMS;
Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) RDMS by ARDMS. Preferred additional certifications:
Vascular Sonography (VS) by ARRT;
Breast Sonography (BS) by ARRT;
Breast (BR) RDMS by ARDMS;
Adult Echocardiography (AE) RDCS by ARDMS;
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS;
State licensure if required; DMS by MIRTP NMED; BLS. - Work Authorization:
