Next Gen Pastor

SCOPE

A leader whose convictions affirm and will further the mission of Saint Peter’s Church:
To be a community following Jesus for the sake the Low country and beyond.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a part of the Family Ministries Team, this position is designed to be the point leader in the way of hospitality and formation for those under the age of 30 years of age at Saint Peter’s Church.

  • Pastor
    • Weekly Sunday Presence—become equipped and prepared to lead on and off stage in Sunday programming.
    • Pastoral Care— If applicable: become equipped and prepared to shepherd men of all ages k in tandem with Women’s Minister to provide an overall structure of care for the people at Saint Peter’s Church.
    • Ongoing commitment to diocesan requirements for Priesthood (including education where necessary).
  • Leader
    • Regularly Coach and Care for Staff who lead under 30s ministry.
    • Create a monthly Young Adult touchpoint to build the community in this demographic.
    • If applicable:
      Presence (and leadership when necessary) at Men’s Breakfast and other community related activities where relevant as determined by Rector.
    • Minimum monthly presence at Student Ministries to provide wisdom to Student Pastor (when necessary, a willingness to lead/teach if invited)
    • Regular observation of kids ministry on Sunday morning for awareness of ministry.
  • Teacher
    • Ongoing training for growth (podcasts, trainings, courses, coaching from AJ).
    • Willingness to teach on Sundays when invited.
    • Creating 2 teaching courses (3-4 weeks each) for programming tent to be discerned with Rector.
    • Willingness to teach in Student and Kids environments when appropriate and requested
    • Willingness to teach at Sacred Paths (or other formational endeavors) when needed.
  • To Staff:
    • Participate and engage joyfully in Saint Peter’s staff culture
    • Meet regularly with direct report
    • Meet regularly with those who report to you
    • Collaborate and plan regularly to those who report to you
    • Participate in weekly staff meetings

  • Competent in recruiting, developing, and equipping volunteer leaders.
  • Availability and presence on Sunday mornings to execute the ministry and to respond to the needs of children and families.

  • Team player:
    Humble and team oriented in leadership style, fully participating in the overall leadership of our Church as a member of the Saint Peter’s Staff.
  • Carefully plan and manage the Kid’s and Student’s Ministry Budget with relevant staff.
  • Report Contract Labor scheduled dates and pay to Saint Peter’s Bookkeeper.

COMPENSATION DETAILS
  • Full time salary (45 hours) to be determined based on relevant experience and budget
  • Sunday is considered a work day (Sabbath is subjective to the employees desire).
  • Access to Saint Peter’s 403b retirement plan
  • Access to health insurance (not compensated if refused)
  • Cell phone reimbursement ($50)
  • Vacation Days and Holidays as laid out in the Employee Manual)
  • The successful completion of a criminal background check and Child Protection Certification is required prior to employment.
  • SPC will collaborate and discern through an ordination plan (including Seminary).
  • Option to live in Parsonage rent free
