Beacon Learning provides specialized academic therapy and tutoring services in Charleston, SC, as well as remote learning options. The team focuses on supporting students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and other learning challenges. They also offer services like reading and math tutoring, executive functioning coaching, and SAT/ACT preparation. With a student-centered approach, Beacon Learning is dedicated to empowering students and fostering their academic success.

This is a part-time, on-site subcontracting role as a SAT/ACT tutor located in Mount Pleasant, SC. There are other tutoring oportunities available to supplement the off-season of SAT prep, such as math or english tutoring. The SAT/ACT Tutor will be responsible for preparing students for the SAT/ACT exams by developing customized lesson plans, teaching test-taking strategies, providing practice assessments, and offering individualized feedback to improve performance.

Additionally, the tutor will provide guidance in subject-specific areas, monitor students' progress, and adapt teaching techniques based on learning needs.

• Proficiency in SAT-related subject areas, including Math, Reading, and Writing
• Ability to develop engaging teaching strategies and provide customized support for student learning
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students and parents
• Experience in tutoring or teaching standardized test preparation is preferred
• Organizational skills and ability to track student progress and adapt instructional methods accordingly
• Flexibility and a commitment to fostering students' confidence and academic growth
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is recommended
