Legal Office Services Associate
Mount Pleasant, SC (Onsite)
3+Month Contract
Mon-Fri, 9am - 6pm
This role supports operations within a legal office environment with a primary focus on high-volume printing, copying, scanning, and mail services. The position also assists with document handling, shipping/receiving, office equipment support, and general administrative services while providing professional customer support to legal staff. Work involves handling sensitive and confidential documents that may be time-sensitive and require a high level of accuracy.
Responsibilities- Operate high-volume copy machines, scanners, and mail processing equipment
- Perform copying, printing, scanning, binding, finishing, and document preparation tasks
- Sort, distribute, and process incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and faxes; apply necessary postage
- Ship and receive products and supplies; verify packing slips and organize deliveries
- Handle confidential legal documents and ensure high-quality, accurate work
- Maintain copier areas, perform daily inspections, clear paper jams, and report equipment issues to technicians
- Maintain meter readings, service logs, and supply inventory records
- Use MS Office, email systems, and image handling software to process documents
- Perform scanning, file conversion, file naming, OCR processing, and basic file formatting
- Manage electronic files including table of contents and FTP file transfers for printing and storage
- Deliver completed jobs to designated locations within the site
- Use finishing equipment such as paper cutters, bindery tools, hole drillers, joggers, tape machines, shrink-wrap machines, stackers, electric staplers, and scales
- Support filing tasks including document archiving and purging
- Respond to customer service requests and provide updates on job status or feasibility
- Maintain organized, clean, and well-stocked work areas
- Provide professional support to legal secretaries, paralegals, associates, partners, and project managers
- Assist with hospitality, printer fleet support, and other office services as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the legal industry strongly preferred
- Experience with printing, copying, scanning, or mail sorting and delivery preferred
- Strong customer service, communication, and professionalism
- Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and email systems
- Technical aptitude with printers, copiers, scanners, postage machines, and other office equipment
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures
- Strong organization, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks under tight deadlines
- Ability to read and follow written technical instructions and manuals
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to complete required legal training within 90 days of hire
- Business casual dress code (no open-toed shoes; jeans only on Fridays)
