JOURNEYMAN MAINTENANCE MECHANIC (3 POSITIONS)

Performs one or more of the skilled mechanical trades of a journeyman level in the maintenance, repair and alteration of University buildings and equipment; performs related work as required.

• High school diploma or GED
• Journeyman Certification from the US Department of Labor or equivalent
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Ability to work from blueprints
• Demonstrated ability to follow and/or interpret oral or written directions
• Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and project a positive image
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

• Performs skilled maintenance or construction tasks of journeyman level in one or more of the mechanical trades
• Operates power equipment and hand tools
• Maintains swimming pools
• Repairs and maintains food service equipment
• Repairs and maintains appliances, furnaces, water softeners, etc.
• Repairs and maintains mechanical equipment and piping systems, etc.
• Keeps necessary records as required
• Request supplies and equipment as necessary
