Clinical Details
• Support Staff:
Usually 2 CRNAs per day; occasionally 3 on some Wednesdays/Thursdays.
• EMR: HST
• Case Mix:
Ortho:
Very heavy; blocks required Eyes:
Mostly topical with light sedation; blocks only when needed Mixed Endo Cases: MAC (Monitored Anesthesia Care) Pediatric ENT:
Requires PALS certification; conservative approach; limited cases (1 2 per Tuesday) Total Joint Ortho / Shoulders:
Starting Feb, 2nd & 4th Tuesday; volume TBD
Patient Safety & Requirements
• Thorough pre-op assessment (PAT) for all patients
• Pediatric ENT restrictions: no tonsils under 3, no sleep apnea cases
• Eye cases rarely need full blocks
