Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position.

Days, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with on-call requirements during nights, weekends, and potentially holidays.

The Peri-Operative Surgical Assistant provides care for surgical patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves ensuring the physical environment is properly prepared before patient arrival and assisting the RN in developing and implementing plans of care while adhering to safety procedures.

• Prepare the operating room prior to the patient's arrival.
• Assist Registered Nurse with the development of patient care plans.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols for patients and employees.
• Support surgical teams during various procedures, primarily in GI, General, Orthopedic, Spine, GYN, Urology, Podiatry, and C-sections.

• Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience is required.
• Endoscopy experience is preferred.
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Certification through NBSTSA is preferred.
• Michigan nursing license verification required; provide LARA and Nursys documentation.
