This role coordinates alumni outreach programs and event engagement, facilitates alumni engagement through in‑person and virtual events, affinity group initiatives, and digital platforms, and supervises student employees.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree
- Three years of experience in alumni relations, event management, student programming, public relations, hospitality services, or a related field
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Five years of experience in alumni relations, event management, student programming, public relations, hospitality services, or a related field
- Experience with higher education events and volunteer management
- Experience working with and understanding diverse communities
- Experience coordinating in‑person and virtual events
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to cultivate inclusive and equitable relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members
- Knowledge of software platforms such as Canva, Fundraising Performance Management, Millennium, Thankview, etc.
- Serve as liaison to alumni affinity groups and coordinate on‑campus event logistics and fundraising initiatives
- Lead and collaborate with the Alumni Engagement team on large‑scale annual events (Homecoming, Reunions, Alumni Awards Ceremony, Golf Outings, etc.)
- Collaborate with the Communications Manager on social media strategy, webpage management, and overall communication plans; oversee alumni content on digital platforms (Mobile Up, YoDeck, Sitefinity)
- Maintain current digital content regarding alumni programs, events, fundraisers, and nomination deadlines, while ensuring brand consistency
- Serve as staff liaison to the National Alumni Association Board of Directors; assist committees as needed
- Assist advancement partners and campus areas with event programming support
- Assist with alumni outreach programs and event engagement; coordinate in‑person and virtual events for regional alumni groups; manage expectations
- Supervise the Alumni Events Assistant (intern) and student employee tasks and schedules; provide guidance and oversight
- Represent the university and the Alumni Association with pride and integrity
- Perform other duties as assigned
