Job Description
We are seeking a  Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician  for a high-priority locum tenens opportunity in  Mt Pleasant, Michigan . This assignment is intended to support coverage needs through 2026 and offers a collaborative emergency department environment with strong specialist and hospitalist support.

This role is ideal for physicians seeking consistent locum shifts with a well-established care team and moderate patient volumes.

Average Patients per Day:  ~54

Trauma Level:  Provisional Level IV

Admissions from ED:  ~90%

Staffing & Support

Emergency Medicine physicians supported by:

1 full-time midlevel provider

PRN midlevel coverage

Hospitalist team manages most admissions

Anesthesia available for airway support during daytime hours

Emergency physicians assist with airway management during codes

Physician supervision required for midlevel on duty

CT and X-ray available (no MRI)

Required Qualifications

Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
OR
Board Certified in Family Practice with 2+ years of ER experience

Active Michigan medical license  (required at presentation; no exceptions)

DEA registration  (verbal confirmation required at name clear)

ATLS & PALS  (required for non–EM boarded physicians)

Clean background  for expedited credentialing

Local provider required  (no exceptions)

Minimum 2+ years of recent ER experience
