Overview
Brad Holtkamp Automotive is looking for a skilled and reliable Automotive Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for diagnosing and repairing vehicles, a strong technical background, and a commitment to providing excellent service. Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair vehicles
:
Perform thorough diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of vehicles, including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, electrical, and HVAC systems. - Conduct vehicle inspections
:
Perform vehicle inspections with electronic tablets, take photos, and recommend necessary repairs. - Service and maintain vehicles
:
Complete routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid services, and filter replacements. - Identify mechanical problems
:
Use diagnostic tools and experience to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues in a timely manner. - Stay up to date with automotive technology
:
Keep current with the latest automotive technologies, repair techniques, and equipment. - Ensure safety and quality standards
:
Follow safety guidelines and quality control procedures for all repairs and services to maintain high standards of work. - Collaborate with the Service Advisor
:
Communicate effectively with the Service Advisor and shop manager to ensure timely completion of repairs and accurate estimates. - Keep work area organized
:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including all tools and equipment. - Customer communication
:
If necessary, interact with customers to provide updates on vehicle repairs and ensure their satisfaction with the work performed.
- ASE Certification (Automotive Service Excellence) is preferred but not required.
- Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic, with a strong working knowledge of automotive systems and repairs.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and the latest automotive technologies.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in an understandable manner.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent (automotive-related courses or certifications are a plus).
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and kneel for extended periods.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy parts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
