Driller

Job Summary:

The Driller will be responsible for safely performing drilling activity for various construction sites across Middle TN to ensure project sites achieve maximum production. If experience is limited, we are willing to train. Below are the responsibilities and qualifications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operates drilling equipment to create boreholes for various construction purposes.

• Basic understanding and knowledge of drill terminology.

• Coordinate with the drilling superintendent and blaster to determine drill patterns.

• Execute drill pattern and layout as established by the Licensed Blaster.

• Adheres to all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment during drilling operations.

• Submit and maintain daily drill production logs.

• Maintain records of drill patterns, drill logs, and additional information that may be required.

• Performs routine maintenance and inspections on drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance.

• Reports any equipment issues or malfunctions immediately.

• Coordinate with Licensed Blaster on drilling conditions and terrain if problems arise.

• Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining production efficiency and safe working conditions.

• Participate in both daily and weekly safety meetings, tool box talks, and safety stand-downs.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Proficient in the operation of drilling equipment and various drilling techniques.

• Ability to interpret drilling logs.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Education & Experience:

• Experience operating hydraulic equipment required.

• Experience working in or around construction site operations and heavy equipment.

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and fit for duty exam.

• Experience in the construction industry preferred but not required.

• Basic to advanced understanding of hydraulics, motors, electrical systems, and equipment maintenance.

• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues preferred but not required.

• Must possess a valid driver's license.  will not be accepted.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods working with large and possibly noisy equipment.
• Must have excellent depth perception, hearing, and hands on skills to operate all machines safely.

• Must be able to lift individually up to 50 pounds at times 20%-30% of the time.

• Stooping, bending, and lifting 30%-40% of the time.

• Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather conditions.
