Position: (USA) Food & Consumables Coach

Overview

Position Summary... What you'll do... Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching training and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. Tour to Teach communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising and company direction; introducing and leading company change efforts providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicating business objectives to teams effectively.

Models and demonstrates customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model and managing customer service initiatives, including community programs, ensuring customer needs and issues are resolved and developing action plans to improve processes and the customer experience.

Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing P&L statements, budgeting, forecasting and controlling expenses; ensuring effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow and operational processes; developing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals. Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, recognizing associates, and promoting a belonging mindset.

  • Coordinate and oversee job-related activities and assignments by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying goals and objectives, building accountability, and tracking progress.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring, training, mentoring, and recognizing performance; promote a culture of belonging.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical standards by implementing action plans and guiding on Open Door Policy in business processes.
  • Respect the individual by building high-performing teams, embracing differences, and creating opportunities for all associates to thrive.
  • Attract and retain talent, empower and develop team members, and recognize contributions.
  • Act with integrity and uphold Walmart values, accountability, and community impact initiatives.
  • Serve customers and members by delivering results, focusing on customer needs, and applying EDLP/EDLC concepts to plans.
  • Strive for excellence by fostering curiosity, taking calculated risks, and driving continuous improvement through new technologies and learning from mistakes.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:

    2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • For facilities selling firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific background check and training may be required.
  • For facilities selling only ammunition and meeting state requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
  • Associates must attend and complete all job-required trainings (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership (Live Better U/Bellevue University);
    Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership; experience supervising 5+ direct reports with performance management, mentoring, hiring and firing.
Benefits and Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $80,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Some roles may include Regional Pay Zone, Complex Structure pay based on location and external factors. This job may have State Pay Differential where applicable.
