Job Summary

The full‑time Assistant Manager is a full‑time hourly employee whose primary function is the operation and supervision of a theatre and its employees, and to act as a representative to Regal in a way that is consistent with our mission statement and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • Uphold and administer all theatre policies.
  • Train, develop, coach, and supervise non‑management employees.
  • Perform all staff positions as required.
  • Operate all projection and audio‑visual equipment, including film handling and maintenance.
  • Ensure required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable.
  • Monitor risk management, including employee and patron safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and proper handling, reporting, and investigation of accidents.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Count, deposit, and reconcile all receipts taken during a business day, including cash, credit cards, coupons, gift cards, checks, discount tickets, and other payment modes.
  • Understand and comply with dress code.
  • Complete or be in process of completing the management certification program.
  • Review and understand the ROM.
  • Interview, hire, schedule, coach, counsel, suspend, and, with HR approval, terminate cast members.
  • Administer all applicable paperwork and uphold company HR policies.
  • Control costs, purchase and order concession and café stock, and manage inventory and auditing processes.
  • Supervise theatre maintenance, perform minor repairs, and obtain qualified personnel for major concerns.
  • Market and promote feature film engagements; schedule movie show times and deliver show times to all proper channels.
  • Read and understand training materials covering sexual harassment and discrimination.
Qualifications

Education / Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (if not currently a high school student).
  • At least three months supervisory experience, or six months theatre experience with completion of the Cast Certification Program, or a combination thereof.
  • Must demonstrate potential leadership and/or management skills to theatre management, subject to VP approval.
  • If the theatre sells alcohol, must be of legal age to sell and serve alcohol and complete required state or local training and the Regal Responsible Beverage Server training.
Basic

Skills and Abilities
  • Good public speaking and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with PC platforms and basic office programs (email, word processing, spreadsheets).
  • Ability to perform calculations with speed and accuracy.
  • Strong reasoning ability: identify problems, gather data, recommend solutions, and take action with minimal supervision.
  • Mechanical aptitude for operating equipment and performing maintenance tasks.
  • Excellent customer interface skills and sensitivity to others' feelings.
  • Ability to set goals, budget time, and prioritize tasks.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises an unspecified number of employees. Tasks include training, coaching, planning, assigning work, evaluating performance, rewarding, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and disciplining employees under the direction of the General Manager or Assistant Manager. The role may include interviewing and hiring.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, talking or hearing. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly required to lift up to 60 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
