ScheduleHybrid iet Site location. Role requires travel max once a month, ideally once a quarter with expenses. Arrival time 7 AM CST. Most travel will be NAM based—TX, TN, SC, occasionally other sites, Mexico.
Job TitleOEM Fabrication Programmer
Description / Primary FunctionA Programming Specialist responsible for working with all SE Fabrication sites that use OEM programming software packages such as AP100, Optimation, Dr Abe, Radan, etc. Lead activities to maintain programming functions with SE sites, support cross training, and standardization across all programming sites. Work with Design Engineering to standardize and improve new product development.
Responsibilities- Standardization of programming software.
- Develop cross-training program.
- Set up remote programming at SE sites to facilitate remote programming from site to site.
- Optimize programming modules use, maintain current programming software, annual maintenance updates.
- Monitor and review other programming systems, benchmark if there are better systems to use.
- Nest optimization/utilization, scrap reduction, standardize on offal/net/gross.
- Education:
An Engineering Degree is preferred. - 5+ years of experience in various sheet metal fabrication shops programming turrets, lasers, benders, folding machines, bar machines, etc.
- 5+ years in metal fabrication, punching, cutting, bending of copper/aluminum and various sheet metals.
- Mechanical/Industrial Engineer degree preferred.
- Ability to work across multiple business functions.
- Self-directed and self-motivated to identify and drive improvements.
- Extensive knowledge of fabrication equipment, tooling and various programming software.
- Strong working knowledge of computer applications (AutoCAD, MS Office, 3D modeling, Creo, Inventor, ProE, etc.).
- Solid work ethic – honor, responsibility and commitment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills (English language).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
