5th Grade Teacher - Sacred Heart School, Mount Holly, NJ is looking for a full-time 5th grade teacher to join our Pre Kindergarten - 8th Grade elementary school. The ideal candidate should be an energetic individual who has a passion for teaching in a Faith based environment. This person should maximize learning for all students and contribute to their development as confident, competent, and creative learners.
Responsibilities:
- Strong Math and Language Arts skills
- Demonstrate knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy.
- Set specific objectives wherever possible in lesson preparation and weekly lesson plans.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment, diagnosis, and research related to learning.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, administration, and the larger community.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Use formative and summative assessments to collect and analyze student data to monitor and track student growth.
- Proficient in the use of instructional technology.
- Demonstrate effective written and oral communications.
- Maintain a high professional standard consistent with the mission of Sacred Heart School and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Implement and model developmentally appropriate classroom practice, including communication, social/emotional well-being, and positive guidance strategies.
- Implement classroom management strategies which promote student responsibility, problem solving skills, and student accountability.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Education with evidence of coursework/experience in the specified areas
- New Jersey (or out of state equivalent) teacher certification (standard certificate or certificate of eligibility)
