Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, this role contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through performing selected day-to-day patient care activities, maintaining an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being, demonstrating unit/area-designated competencies, and interacting with patients, considering their developmental, age-specific, cultural, and spiritual preferences.

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Formal education or training in a medical careers program OR enrollment in nursing school OR two or more years’ experience in a Patient Care Associate/Nurse Assistant role.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent, required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date.
