Radiology - X-Ray

The CT Technologist coordinates and participates in all computerized tomography scanning procedures, setting up, monitoring, and operating complex computerized equipment for diagnostic purposes.

• Set up and monitor computer operation of C.T. equipment per patient, ensuring safety and proper lifting techniques.
• Provide required patient identification and obtain vital information regarding known allergies and medical history.
• Prepare and inject contrast media intravenously as needed for examinations.
• Make and develop images for permanent files and record studies on magnetic tape for future reference.
• Organize the daily patient schedule in cooperation with the work-room technician.
• Maintain image quality following department guidelines with daily calibration and quality control of equipment.
• Responsible for electronic/digital image capture, storage, transfer, and copy.
• Monitor patients for allergic reactions and assist with emergency medical situations, including basic CPR.
• Provide protection to self and patients according to safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of the working environment and manage department inventory levels.
• Instruct new personnel as needed and assist Radiologists with specialized radiological procedures.
• Review and record pertinent patient history and supportive clinical data to aid in diagnosis.
• Maintain Registry in accordance with regulatory agency requirements and participate in quality improvement opportunities.

• 2+ years of CT experience (required)
• Experience with Phillips equipment (required)
• Traveler experience is preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• ARRT certification required.
• Michigan licensure is required for nurses, with verification needed.
