Position Title:

HVAC Technician/Electrician

Reports To:

Director of Facilities

Primary Function:
Will be responsible for all repairs and maintenance of all heating ventilation, air conditioning, and energy management systems at all buildings within school system. Will be responsible for installation of new HVAC.

Requirements:
Educational Level: High school diploma or GED Certificate; technical training desirable.
Certification/Licensing:
Valid GA driver's license.
Proficiency

Skills:

Ability to organize. Written and oral communication and basic math skills.
Personal

Skills:

Ability to lift materials and equipment weighing a maximum of 75 pounds. Pleasant personality, cooperative attitude, physical skills and stamina to perform essential duties.

General
1. Maintains a pattern of prompt and regular attendance.

Work hours:

7:30 AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Friday; on call 24 hours a day, seven (7) days per week. Number of annual absences to date:

8. Participates in appropriate training, workshops and staff development activities and applies what is learned to the job; accepts new challenges in a professional manner.
9. Shows initiative and assumes responsibility for all aspects of job responsibilities; performs routine duties and tasks with little or no direct supervision.
10. Exhibits time on task, a flexible, cooperative, progressive and hard working attitude and style. Limits personal business and phone calls to a minimum during work hours.
11. Plans, directs and completes all types of electrical and HVAC maintenance, repairs and installation projects.
12. Withdraws, returns and recommends items for purchase from the maintenance inventory.
13. Maintains all tools and equipment related to position in good working order.
14. Enhances the climate of the building and the morale of colleagues.
15. Demonstrates loyalty to the school system and administration.
16. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Tasks
17. Performs repairs on all heating ventilation/air conditioning equipment with HVAC Department in all buildings within the school system.
18. Repairs all energy management systems in all buildings within the school system.
19. Repairs, changes, and provides preventative maintenance on all sensors for computers controlling energy management systems.
20. Performs preventative maintenance for all compressors, cooling towers, boilers, etc., for all buildings within school system.
21. Performs all electrical repair and/or installation using acceptable electrical safety procedures.
22. Repairs all light fixtures, switches and electrical receptacles inside and outside of all buildings.
23. Repairs kitchen equipment containing electric parts or motors.
24. Maintains, repairs and cleans all smoke and fire detectors.
24. Installs any new equipment with HVAC Department in all buildings within school district.
25. Provides field supervision to all paraprofessionals assigned to them.
26. Repairs or installs electrical wiring inside and outside of all buildings.
27. Repairs, maintains and installs all master and secondary clocks.
