Mental Health Technician / Patient Tech
Turning Point Care Center has an opening for PRN Mental Health Tech (MHT) for our men's partial programs. MHTs play a vital role in providing excellent care for our patients and are a member of the interdisciplinary team who assists in total client care through implementation of appropriate therapeutic approaches.
- Provide direct patient care within a multidiscipline team approach.
- Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment.
- Maintain accurate and complete data and records.
- Intervenes with suicidal gestures, inappropriate behaviors, elopements, etc., using proper CPI technique.
- Therapeutically communicate with patients. Assists in developing appropriate boundaries and helps to develop social skills.
- Directs/redirects behaviors, demonstrating appropriate behavioral consequences. Responds appropriately to impulsivity issues as they relate to age specific criteria.
- Recognize and communicate the physical and psychological status of the patients under their care.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
** This position qualifies for shift differentials for hours worked between 3:00pm - 7:00am**

QualificationsQualified candidates will have:
- One (1) year experience in a patient related field, required.
- One (1) year experience with psychiatric, trauma, or substance abuse patients, preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Further training/education in behavioral health and substance abuse treatment is preferred.
- Ability to communicate therapeutically and age appropriately.
- Current Georgia Driver's License with:
- No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years
- Not having multiple violations for driving without insurance
- No more than 2 at fault accidents on record in the past 3 years
- No convictions for DUI or DWI within the past 7 years
- No convictions for serious infractions such as reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, or fleeing a police officer
- No convictions for vehicular homicide manslaughter
