Role Purpose

You will be responsible and accountable for the shop and the team in the absence of the Shop Manager, operating and running the shop, managing the shop team effectively, opening and closing the business and ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the day while accepting and paying out bets and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Shop Manager with the day‑to‑day running of the shop and the shop team.
  • In the absence of the Shop Manager, lead from the front in managing the operation and running of the shop and team, including:
    • Opening and closing the shop
    • Managing and guiding the shop team
    • Cash management procedures
    • Managing and utilizing the company Time and Attendance system, ensuring adherence from the shop team.
    • Leading by example and driving the team to maintain shop presentation standards.
    • Encouraging teammates to share ideas on improvement.
    • Staying focused on shop results and identifying opportunities for high standards.
    • Providing outstanding customer experience and guiding the team to deliver excellent service.
    • Accepting bets, accurately taking and processing customer bets through multiple channels, including betting terminals and EPOS transactions in a timely manner.
    • Acting as a Brand Ambassador, introducing customers to the multi‑channel/digital journey.
    • Ensuring the shop adheres to all operational procedures, including cash and security procedures.
    • Adhering to Social Responsibility duties.

Desirable Skills and Experience
  • 1 year Assistant Manager/Supervisor Retail experience.
  • Industry experience welcomed but not essential; full training provided.
