Virax Biolabs UK Ltd is an innovative biotechnology company developing immune-response detection technologies. Its activities include the Virax Immune™ profiling platform and the Immune Select portfolio of research products and services, supporting immunology research and biotechnology organisations.
We are currently looking for a Research Associate to join our team based at Biocity Glasgow. The successful candidate will support the development and optimization of T cell-based assays. The role involves hands-on laboratory work, data analysis, and contribution to the day-to-day operation of the laboratory.
Key Responsibilities- Execute experiments following established standard operating procedures.
- Prepare, process, and handle biological samples, including whole blood and PBMCs.
- Support antibody conjugation and characterisation activities.
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment; identify and report technical issues.
- Monitor inventory levels of laboratory supplies, reagents, and consumables.
- Document all experimental procedures and results in accordance with our Quality Management System
- Degree in a life-science discipline (e.g. Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences).
- Practical laboratory experience gained through academic projects, placements, or internships.
- Exposure to one or more of the following is desirable but not required: immunoassays, cell culture, antibody handling or conjugation, basic molecular or analytical techniques.
- Ability to follow protocols accurately and work in a regulated laboratory environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
