About The Role
Join our Power Commercial team as a Senior Quantity Surveyor and play a key role in delivering complex, high‑value infrastructure projects. Balfour Beatty Power is leading the UK’s transition to Net Zero, strengthening Scotland’s energy network and supporting the growth of renewable generation. What you'll be doing- Manage project costs, budgets, and income to ensure strong commercial performance.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities across infrastructure projects.
- Lead subcontract procurement, negotiation, and contract administration.
- Oversee change control processes, including variations and compensation events.
- Ensure accurate, timely commercial reporting and forecasting.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Drive value for money while maintaining quality and compliance with standards.
- Support Project Managers with commercial insights, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide commercial leadership across large infrastructure projects or a portfolio of smaller schemes.
- Mentor, coach, and develop junior commercial team members.
- Proactively pursue personal development, including professional accreditation.
- Support adherence to Gated Business Lifecycle processes.
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
- Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards).
- Experience with key contracts such as NEC.
- Good communication skills.
