Senior Quantity Surveyor

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experience Senior Quantity Surveyor with a track record of working on major M&E projects, to be engaged on a permanent basis in Motherwell, Scotland.

We're looking for an Experienced Quantity Surveyor with a track record in managing all costs and income within their area of responsibility. They seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Preferably, they will be a Chartered Member of the RICS, CICES or CIOB or working to achieve in the near future.

Experience of managing a small team of commercial staff as well as mentoring others on their journey to becoming professionally qualified is desirable. They will maintain their Continuing Professional
Development (CPD).

What you'll be doing

• Request information and systematically check data
• Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender

documents

• Critically appraises, estimates and negotiates the above with 3rd parties
• Reviews complex contract programmes such as Time-Location,
• Assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes
• Monitors subcontract activities, measure and respond appropriately
• Prepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation and

report to senior project staff.

• Understanding of the Customer Contract and undertakes customer and

stakeholder management

• Analyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events

as required

• Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required
• Manages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of

responsibility

• Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes.
• Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy.
• Development, Recruitment and Retention
• Supports the recruitment, supervision and development of team members
• A good knowledge of and adheres to the Company's governance requirements and maximises LEAN/digital opportunities

Who we're looking for

The following are essential:

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent knowledge
• MRICS/MCInstCES/MCIOB or working towards
• CSCS Card (Professional Qualified Person)
