Position PostingThe Moses Lake School District is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Assistant Coach for the Moses Lake High School Boys Soccer Team. The Moses Lake School District is committed to teaching and developing useful, life-long skills in its student-athletes and strives to provide the best opportunities possible for each student-athlete’s success.
The ConferenceMoses Lake High School is classified as a 4A school by the WIAA and is a member of Columbia Basin Big Nine Athletic Conference (CBBN). Other CBBN member schools include Eastmont, Davis, Eisenhower, Sunnyside, Wenatchee and West Valley (Yakima). The CBBN awards league championships in 22 sports and has a solid reputation as one of the most competitive and successful conferences in Washington State.
CBBN teams are consistent participants in WIAA State Championships in various sports and activities.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively carry out the duties of the position and comply with the policies/procedures set forth by the MLHS Principal, Athletic Director, and the Moses Lake School District.
- Exhibited knowledge of the sport, demonstrated technical skills, and successful experience teaching these skills to secondary school student-athletes.
- Valid First Aid and CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain prior to start of season.
- Ability to meet WIAA age requirements applicable to the position.
- Exhibit the organizational skills and abilities to ensure a well-managed program.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- WIAA standards require all coaches, prior to the beginning of the third year of coaching, to complete a Coaching Principles Course covering 4 required areas.
- WIAA standards require coaches to complete a minimum of five (5) additional hours of coaching education courses each three-year period following.
- WIAA standards require high school Coaches annually complete the WIAA general rules clinic and the WIAA-approved rules clinic for the sport being coached prior to the sports season.
