Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness

Big Bend Community College invites applications for an Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness in the Institutional Research & Planning Department. The position reports to the President and leads strategic data‑informed decision‑making, continuous improvement, and accountability.

Key responsibilities include accreditation liaison, student achievement data, research, strategic planning, and stakeholder communication.

Essential Functions
  • Supervise data requests, analysis, and reports that enhance data‑informed decision‑making.
  • Manage SBCTC data extraction and table creation for specialized tracking.
  • Oversee preparation and submission of required state, SBCTC, and federal reports.
  • Drive strategic research to shape priorities and outcomes.
  • Apply advanced institutional research methodologies and systems.
  • Lead modernization of data systems, dashboards, and analytic tools.
  • Coordinate annual planning and budgeting process.
  • Collaborate with SBCTC and other partners to gather and analyze information for campus use.
  • Present data and research results to Executive Team, committees, and Board of Trustees.
  • Serve on SBCTC Research and Planning Commission; chair Data Committee.
  • Attend conferences, maintain membership in professional organizations, and stay current.
  • Support grant application development and reporting.
  • Act as trusted liaison on sensitive priorities, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Lead institutional assessment reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Work with departments to align assessment with institutional goals.
  • Ensure timely submission of assessment plans and results.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and reporting of data for student success.
  • Communicate assessment findings to stakeholders.
  • Use findings to guide improvement action plans.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the institution.
  • Support the ALO in NWCCU accreditation coordination.
  • Coordinate all national accreditation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation and assessment standards.
  • Facilitate plans to address accreditation recommendations.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date accreditation knowledge.
  • Provide training on accreditation processes.
  • Submit required reports to NWCCU.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives and report status.
  • Integrate assessment, accreditation, and data into continuous improvement.
  • Guide departments to align operational plans with the strategic plan.
  • Oversee data dashboards and recommend modifications as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or equivalent education and professional experience.
  • At least five (5) years of experience using data and information technology to inform planning.
  • Proficient with SPSS, SAS, SQL, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Demonstrated responsiveness to diverse student backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with in the Washington Community & Technical College system.
  • Experience coordinating complex initiatives in higher education.
  • Familiarity with academic governance and institutional planning.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven independent judgment and discretion.
  • Interpersonal skills with ability to build trust and collaboration.
  • Prior accreditation team experience.
