Schedule
This is a part-time, night-shift position, 7pm - 7:30am, with two 12-hour shifts per week and rotating weekends and holidays.
OfferUp to $7,500 sign on bonus, subject to two-year Hospital Sign on Advance Agreement. (External candidates only.)
Specific Accountabilities- Assesses respiratory patient to determine physical and emotional care needs and capabilities.
- Makes adjustments to inpatient care regimen to ensure individualized effectiveness according to patient needs, via protocols or physician contact.
- Educates patient and/or caregivers on physiologic processes, lifestyle modifications to maximize health, and appropriate use of equipment and medications.
- Works with physician to provide respiratory consultation to ensure appropriate care orders and protocols, and to obtain meaningful diagnostic information.
- Reports adverse effects including signs and symptoms of respiratory dysfunction from therapies and medications.
- Attends at least 50% of regularly scheduled staff meetings annually.
- Maintains professional growth through seminars, workshops, and memberships to stay current in the field.
- Follows safe work practices to prevent injuries, including infection control, equipment safety, fire, disaster readiness, and body mechanics.
- Complies with organization policies, procedures, and labor agreements.
- Communicates with team members and other groups in a courteous and efficient manner aligned with the organization s values.
- Maintains professional appearance and behavior to represent the organization appropriately.
- Performs additional accountabilities as required by management to meet organizational standards.
- Graduate of an AMA-accredited two-year Respiratory Care Practitioner program (or equivalent per state requirements).
- Two years of postgraduate acute care respiratory care experience preferred.
- CRT, RRT eligible, or RRT credentials from NBRC;
State of Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner Certification/License. - Current BLS (Healthcare Provider), ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications.
- Routine standing and walking with occasional lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.
- Good reading eyesight and manual dexterity to perform tasks.
- Ability to lift and move patients using proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
- Ability to tolerate prolonged use of barrier protection devices as appropriate to clinical situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, health care professionals, patients, families, and the public.
- Demonstrates competency with department equipment.
- Critical thinking and independent problem-solving; logical and deliberate decision-making.
- Accountability and safe judgment within ethical and legal guidelines.
- Ability to care for patients across the age continuum.
