Position OverviewWelcome to Student Financial Aid Services and Strategic Enrollment Management! Working here means becoming part of a dedicated group that helps authorize over $100 million in financial aid each year, supporting the hopes and dreams of thousands of students. This Technical Product Manager is the primary point of contact for technical solutions and operational efficiencies. Work with curious and passionate staff to develop novel solutions to technical challenges.
This role is an opportunity to apply your customer service and technical skills while gaining experience in the niche field of Financial Aid Technology Management.
- Understand and represent user needs
- Define a vision and roadmap for a product
- Align stakeholders around the vision for the product
- Prioritize product features and capabilities
- Manage a product backlog
- Oversee development stages and evaluate progress
- Serve as a liaison between department stakeholders and the Office of Information Technology development team
- Collaborate across teams to empower independent decision-making
- Administer applications
- Provide high level reporting to departments across the university
- Other duties as assigned
- Three years working with software applications in a technical or functional support role
- Prioritizing work and ensuring projects and workloads are completed on time
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Five or more years of experience working with software applications in a technical or functional leadership role
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management of Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field
- Agile Certification (Product Owner, Scrum Master, or similar)
- ITIL Certification
- Translating business to technical requirements and vice versa
- Working as part of a project team
- Collaborating with stakeholders across functional areas
- Ellucian Banner ERP, Scholarship Universe, Soft Docs, Slate, Tableau, Oracle
- Agentic AI or AI development
- Agile Methodologies such as managing a product backlog and writing user stories
- Command line, shell scripts, python
- Using enterprise reporting tools such as Power BI, Argos or SQL Developer
- Understanding the relationships between ERP, CRM, CMS, third-party solutions, relational databases
- Source Code Control / Versioning tools (Git)
