The fundamental function of the staff in the Office of the President is the facilitation of the work of the President. Coordination among the executive team and senior leadership offices is essential to achieve the priority functions and focus areas the President has set for the University.
Position OverviewThis position provides management, support, direction and training for administrative and financial staff. It also oversees communication and interaction with college support staff for personnel processes and works closely with university offices to research rules, regulations, processes and procedures, provide interpretations and make recommendations to administrators, departments and supervisors.
Duties May Include- Coordinate all human resource processes for the unit with Human Resources
- Monitor and evaluate compliance with applicable laws, policies and procedures and make recommendations on appropriate action
- Manage and process electronic personnel action forms
- Provide financial analysis and reporting of various accounts and activities
- Assist with daily financial and grant related operations
- Supervise and train administrative and financial staff
- Other duties as assigned
- Two years providing financial processing support within an electronic finance system
- Using spreadsheet software to compile, summarize, analyze and report on financial data
- Interpreting and applying financial stewardship policies, procedures, rules and regulations
- One year supervising or delegating work to others
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Public Administration; four additional years of experience (for a total of six years) may substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree

- Working in a senior administrative office environment
- Familiarity with University of Idaho policies, procedures, and systems
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or relevant accounting experience
- Experience managing or utilizing spreadsheet software and accounting systems to store, analyze, and report information about finances
- Experience with analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives, and developing recommendations for administrative decision making
- Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move materials weighing up to 30 pounds occasionally
