The University of Idaho Dual Credit Program is seeking an Administrative Specialist to join our team. This position reports to the Director of Dual Credit and provides in‑person administrative support for day‑to‑day operations and in completing annual and other required projects and tasks.
Since 1997, the UI Dual Credit Program provides high school students the opportunity to earn college credit across Idaho. We collaborate with almost 40 university faculty mentors, over 120 high school teaching partners, and 58 schools statewide in 42 of the 44 counties in Idaho. Faculty and teachers work together to ensure a positive, equivalent, and quality opportunity for students.
Position OverviewAssist with administrative tasks including preparing correspondence, maintaining records, maintaining calendars, monitoring office inventory, ordering supplies when necessary and completing various assignments as needed. This position may be the first point of contact for the department, and is tasked with ensuring that information flows accurately, efficiently and effectively while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
Duties May Include- Manage records and documents
- Perform general administrative support tasks such as proofreading and receiving and distributing mail; may handle cash
- Greet visitors, callers and/or email inquiries, determining nature and purpose and directing them to specific destinations/individuals/information
- Other duties as assigned
- Organizing tasks to meet deadlines
- Participating in teams to accomplish shared goals
- Using computer software and applications for word processing, email, and internet searches
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- None
- Customer service experience in an office setting
- Attention to detail, with excellent writing, editing, and communication skills as shown in application materials
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Managing projects independently, learning new skills quickly, and showing initiative without needing close supervision
- Experience understanding, explaining, and implementing policies, regulations, and procedures
- Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move up to 20 pounds
