Shop Foreman to join the team.

- Oversee day-to-day shop and yard operations including fitting, welding, material handling, and shipping/receiving to meet project schedules and quality requirements.
- Coordinate workflow and sequencing between fitting, welding, QA/QC, and yard operations to ensure efficient production and on-time delivery.
- Allocate manpower, equipment, and resources based on project priorities and delivery requirements.
- Review shop drawings for accuracy, constructability, and sequencing; identify and address errors or omissions and mark up drawings as required.
- Ensure fitters, welders, and yard staff have the correct drawings, materials, and consumables prior to starting work.
- Verify layouts before cutting or fabrication and inspect fitted spools prior to welding.
- Ensure all welds receive required visual inspections and NDE and that incomplete or rejected work is returned for correction.
- Coordinate with QA/QC staff to ensure heat numbers, as-built dimensions, test records, and documentation are accurately completed, including hydrostatic testing when required.
- Oversee receiving, storage, internal material handling, and shipping of materials and completed fabrications, ensuring traceability and proper protection.
- Ensure completed materials are photographed and secured prior to shipment and special storage requirements are met per project specifications.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance, inspections, and safe operation of shop and yard equipment, including support of critical lift planning.
- Supervise, mentor, and support foremen, trades, operators, and helpers, addressing productivity or quality concerns through coaching and training.
- Participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal of shop, yard, and trade personnel as required.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices, maintain clean and organized work areas, and foster a positive and respectful work environment.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and overall workflow.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage diverse teams.
- Solid understanding of pipe fitting, welding processes, fabrication sequencing, and material handling.
- Ability to read, interpret, and mark up technical drawings and shop packages.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Working knowledge of QA/QC requirements, NDE processes, and documentation.
- Effective communication skills with trades, QA/QC, safety, and management teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Commitment to safety and quality excellence.
- Journeyperson certification or equivalent experience in welding, pipe fitting, or a related trade.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in industrial fabrication or shop environments.
- Previous experience in a foreman or supervisory role overseeing trades and yard operations.
- Experience working with pressure piping, spools, or fabricated assemblies is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Ability to work extended hours as required to meet project schedules.
- Physically capable of working in shop and yard environments.
- Strong understanding of safe lifting, rigging practices, and equipment operation.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Willingness to support company policies, safety programs, and operational standards.
