Job Title – Production Chemist

We are seeking a dedicated Production Chemist to join our team on the 3rd shift, working from 10pm to 6:30am. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful chemical synthesis and production processes in our facility.

• Perform chemical synthesis on a multi-kilo scale and execute via batch record.
• Maintain documentation standards to meet GMP requirements, including recording charges/transfers and documenting key observations.
• Set up, operate, and clean all plant equipment, including reactors, centrifuges, filter dryers, shelf dryers, and milling equipment.
• Participate in staging raw materials, loading into equipment, and unloading intermediates and products from dryers.
• Read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and effectively communicate in a group setting.
• Collaborate with Chemical Engineers to produce R&D API.

• Proficiency in GMP, GLP, and pharmaceutical quality standards.
• Experience with chemistry and batch record management.
• Familiarity with reactors, centrifuges, chromatography, and wet chemistry.
• Ability to read batch records and perform manual compounding.
• Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic math proficiency.

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or engineering preferred.
• Experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical, or food production facility preferred.
• SAP experience is a plus.
• Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and working with reactors is desirable.
• Willingness to handle chemicals with appropriate safety controls.
• Capability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt flexibly to changes.
• Willingness to undergo annual physical and drug screenings.

The role operates on the 3rd shift from 10pm to 6:30am. The production area is small but part of a growing company with new opportunities on the horizon. The R&D lab is connected to the QC lab, though interaction is limited. This position involves wearing a respirator, standing for over 6 hours per day, and engaging in moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morton Grove, IL.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
