Day Camp Site Supervisor Job Description
The Assistant Site Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Camp Site Supervisor with the daily operation of the summer camp program. This is a seasonal, part-time, position.
Qualifications
At least 18 years of age with a High School diploma or equivalent. Must be certified in CPR and First Aid. At least two years prior camp experience with skills in organization, lesson planning and record keeping and strong communication skills.
Immediate Supervisor
The Assistant Site Supervisor is responsible to the Camp Site Supervisor and Camp Coordinator and Recreation Supervisor.
Essential Functions
Assist Camp Site Supervisor in planning, organizing, developing and implementing daily camp activitieAct as Camp Site Supervisor in Site Supervisor’s absence, if asked to do so.Assist in supervising Jr. Leaders and campers on a daily basis and keep activities flowing smoothly at site.Assist in all camp-related activities including aquatic activitie. Build and maintain staff morale.Maintain communication with the Camp Site Supervisor, Camp Coordinator, Recreation Supervisor and parents with camper concerns.Assist in making sure the camp site and surrounding area are clean, includes sinks, counters, and floorAttend all camp supervisory meetings.Assist in planning season-long activity plans to be used . Assist in evaluating camp program at the last session.Marginal Functions

2. Additional duties as assignedSafety Responsibilities
Analyze the environment for safety hazards and eliminate them before accidents happen.
2. Notify the Camp Coordinator of safety hazards that need to be fixed and when first aid supplies are needed.Watch for unauthorized persons loitering or taking pictures around camp sites/park 4. Use camp equipment in a safe and proper manner.Complete Accident Reports when needed and give to the Camp Site Supervisor. Make sure a Band Aid Report is filled out whenever a band aid is given out.Administer first aid to one’s capabilities, following the “Communicable Disease Guidelines”. (See Communicable Disease Guideline Policy)Follow all safety procedures for field trips; assist the Camp Site Supervisor in performing head counts, carrying first aid, and explaining rules to camperPerform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the District’s safety program.Follow “Communicable Disease Guidelines” when preparing food. (See Communicable Disease Guideline Policy)Psychological Considerations
The Assistant Site Supervisor may need to resolve differences and problems that arise with campers. May also have to work under stress when First Aid or CPR is required.
Physical Considerations
Must have the ability to lift 40 pounds.
Environmental Considerations
Most activities are performed outdoors. These conditions include weather such as extreme heat, humidity and sun exposure.
Must possess good safety awareness and judgment. Must be friendly and like to work with people of all ages.
