Service Technician

This person directly impacts the business by providing a furniture repair service for our customers, ensuring satisfaction.

Some of the functions the Service Technician will perform:

• Meets or exceeds customer expectations in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
• Visits customers' homes as needed to repair furniture
• Ensures that all warehouse repair policies and procedures are followed
• Ensures that the appropriate team member is informed of any item that cannot be repaired
• Receives returned and/or damaged furniture items, assesses condition to determine whether the item is repairable
• Follows established procedures to dispose of unsalvageable items

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate will have, among other skills and abilities:

• Furniture repair experience including: upholstery repair, leather repair and wood repair
• Must have a good working knowledge of power tools including, but not limited to: table saw, drill press, belt sander, router, circular saw, screw guns, hand drills and heat guns
• Ensures that all safety procedures are being followed
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
• Track record of serving others and putting team goals first
• Owners mindset; takes ownership over everything within scope of responsibility
• Embody an adventure guide; passion for the business, bringing curiosity and innovation to the job
• Proactive approach; identifies and solves problems
• Adaptability; flexible to shifting priorities and a changing environment
