Teach applied lessons for low brasses (euphonium, tuba, trombone), recruit a studio of Music and Music Education majors with a low brass instrument as their principal instrument, and
occasionally teach additional courses in the music curriculum congruent with both departmental need and candidate expertise.
Responsibilities
* Teach applied low brass (euphonium, tuba, trombone) and recruit a studio of Music and Music Education majors with percussion as the principal instrument.
* Teach regularly in at least one area of the greater Music and/or Music Education curricula in addition to applied lessons.
* Actively participate in recruitment of students to the Music and Music Education majors. Fulfill periodic departmental duties (e.g., service on jury and recital grading committees).
Required Qualifications
* An earned master's degree in Music or Music Education
* Successful applied low brass teaching experience
* Ability to recruit a studio
* Residence in the state of Georgia is necessary to be hired
Preferred Qualifications
* Ability to teach other courses integral to the Music and/or Music Education majors (e.g., Elementary Methods, Instrumental Music Methods, Music Theory, Aural Skills, etc.)
* Ability to teach courses in an interdisciplinary departmental concentration in audio production/music business
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
* Successful applied low brass teaching experience
* Ability to teach applied lessons in both classical and jazz styles and recruit a studio
