Jr. Technician

Overview
Assists varied levels of technicians with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of Baggage Handling Systems and Passenger Boarding Bridges.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic maintenance assignments including preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance, clearing system jams.
• Perform scheduled shift inspections, cleaning, and electrical/mechanical adjustments.
• Diagnose equipment failures under guidance of senior personnel and ensure equipment runs safely.
• Read and interpret repair manuals, schematics, and supervisor instructions.
• Work in tight and high spaces using PPE and fall protection equipment.
• Follow all company and federal policies and complete required training courses.
• Complete work assignment forms according to established procedures.
• Accept additional duties and assignments as required by management.

Qualifications
High School Graduate or GED.
Minimum 1 year mechanical experience, 1 year BHS or PBB experience, or pass mechanical aptitude test.
Ability to work non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous airport environment experience.
Previous conveyor and/or passenger boarding bridge experience.

Additional Skills and Knowledge
Basic computer knowledge; ability to log in, retrieve emails, and complete training.

Other Requirements
Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s insurance policy.
Must comply with the ELS drug and alcohol policy.
Must work safely and promote a safe work environment at all times.

Physical Demands
Stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, crawl, and squat routinely while lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment
Works under airport terminal conditions with dust, dirt, and continual noise below OSHA action level.
