All about General Merchandise:
Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store.

Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

• Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest-first culture
• Experience in retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement
• Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks
• Engage with guests to help solve their needs
• Thank guests and convey appreciation for shopping at Target
• Execute daily tasks assigned by leadership to achieve goals aligned with business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and posting promotional signs for GM areas
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified
• Execute processes such as price changes, merchandise setup and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed
• Learn procedures related to setting up and organizing merchandise, managing stock levels, and maintaining sales floor areas to impact inventory management and store profitability
• Know resources, products, and services available in the total store to solve guest issues and improve experience
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
• Work safely and comply with safety policies; report hazards and correct when possible
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (e.g., picking, packing orders, or delivering pickup orders) while complying with applicable laws
• All other duties based on business needs

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
• Ability to climb ladders
• Scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds
• Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable attendance
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and other elements while performing duties
• Mobility for the duration of scheduled shifts
