Role

Summary:

The SSG Sports Industry Marketing Coordinator will support Lenovo's growing focus on the global sports industry by activating strategic partnerships across leagues, teams, venues, and major global events. This role is execution-focused and will help bring Lenovo's sports industry strategy to life through coordinated marketing, partnership activation, and customer engagement programs.

A significant area of focus will be supporting SSG customer hospitality initiatives tied to the FIFA World Cup cycles in 2026 and 2027. While these programs represent a major cyclical priority, the role is designed to support year-round sports industry marketing efforts across multiple partnerships.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, proactive operator who is comfortable managing timelines, assets, and stakeholders in a matrixed organization and understands how partnerships support broader business and marketing objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the activation of SSG's sports industry partnerships across leagues, teams, venues, and global events, ensuring Lenovo maximizes the value of each partnership asset.
  • Coordinate (generally with regional marketing teams) end-to‑end execution of partnership and marketing initiatives, including timelines, logistics, asset utilization, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Serve as a day‑to‑day point of contact for internal teams and external partners on assigned sports marketing initiatives.
  • Support planning and execution of SSG customer hospitality programs tied to FIFA World Cup activities, including event logistics, entitlement execution, and cross‑functional coordination with sales, marketing, legal, events, agencies, and external partners.
  • Manage cyclical workload peaks associated with major events while maintaining continuity across ongoing sports industry initiatives.
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and timelines to ensure programs are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Ensure clear, timely communication across internal stakeholders, including senior leaders, to maintain alignment and momentum.
  • Support campaign planning, reporting, and post‑event postmortems to capture learnings and inform future programs.
  • Collaborate closely with SSG marketing, sales, industry teams, and corporate marketing to align sports industry initiatives with broader SSG priorities and business goals.
Basic Requirements
  • 3‑5+ years of experience in marketing, partnership marketing, sponsor ships, events, or program coordination.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience working with sports leagues, teams, venues, or major global events.
  • Experience at a major sports property, sports activation agency, and/or corporate sports marketing department.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience supporting customer hospitality programs, B2B events, or executive engagement initiatives.
  • Comfort interfacing with senior leaders and external partners.
  • Ability to balance external partner requirements with internal business priorities.
  • Proficiency with AI and other office productivity tools.
  • Interest in enterprise technology, solutions, or how technology enables business outcomes.
Desired Interpersonal Qualities
  • Self‑driven and able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable navigating complex global organizations.
  • Calm under pressure, particularly during high‑visibility event cycles.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to adjust priorities during peak periods.
  • Proactive, curious, and focused on continuous improvement.
