Summary
:
North Carolina Children’s, a new children’s health system in North Carolina, will be the state’s only academic health system dedicated solely to caring for kids.
NC Children’s Manager of Communications will develop content and implement strategies to promote NC Children’s internally and across North Carolina. This person will work closely with the small NC Children’s team and leaders at UNC Health, Duke Health, UNC Children’s, Duke Children’s, UNC School of Medicine and the Duke University School of Medicine to identify, develop, and share content while building and maintaining strong relationships.
Responsibilities- Designs, writes, edits, and distributes content and graphics for social media, presentations, websites, and talking points.
- Supports creation of content and management of logistics for special announcements/events.
- Develops, coordinates, and executes comprehensive communication strategies, including a content creation plan to enhance NC Children’s reputation and visibility.
- Works closely with clinical and administrative leaders to identify stories and achievements for coverage, including NC Children’s milestones.
- Coordinates with NC Children’s team and external agencies to maximize outreach impact and ensure alignment with NC Children’s goals.
- Advises on and supports internal communications initiatives to foster engagement and alignment.
- Monitors media coverage and analyzes effectiveness of communications efforts, making data-driven recommendations to continuously improve strategies.
- Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
- Licensure/Certification Requirements: None required.
- Professional Experience Requirements: Five (5) years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing or related field.
- Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Background in graphic design. Background in creation/management of social media channels. Knowledge of medical research concepts sufficient to enable communication with clinical and basic science faculty.
