This is an on‑site, full‑time role for a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Technician located in Morrisville, NC. In this role, the SUE Technician will be responsible for utilizing advanced technologies and techniques such as Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and vacuum excavation to identify and map underground utilities. Daily tasks include interpreting utility records, performing field operations, marking utility lines, and producing accurate reports based on findings.
Collaboration with engineering teams and ensuring compliance with safety protocols will also be key aspects of this role.
- Experience with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), utility locating, and vacuum excavation equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting utility plans and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles and subsurface utility engineering processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and coordination.
- Proficiency in software such as Civil 3D, CAD, or other relevant engineering tools.
- Ability to work on‑site and adapt to a variety of field conditions and environments.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in SUE or utility locating are a plus.
