Overview

The Senior Mechanical Contracting Project Manager leads the execution of large‑scale, high‑risk mechanical construction projects, often involving design‑build delivery. This role is responsible for overseeing complex budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams, including external design subconsultants. The Senior PM ensures project excellence through strategic planning, technical oversight, and mentorship of project teams, while upholding safety, quality, and profitability standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead high‑complexity mechanical construction projects from booking through closeout, ensuring client satisfaction and project success.
  • Direct and coordinate design subconsultants during design‑build projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, constructability, and budget.
  • Develop and execute project plans that anticipate and mitigate risks, optimize resources, and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage multimillion‑dollar budgets and long‑duration schedules with precision, ensuring profitability and timely delivery.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between owners, internal business units, design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and field staff to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Review and approve complex shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and bill of materials; oversee procurement of critical equipment and materials.
  • Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings; resolve issues proactively to maintain safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, fostering professional growth and promoting best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, building owners, and trade partners to ensure repeat business and long‑term collaboration.
  • Prepare and present executive‑level project reports; maintain punch lists, meeting minutes, and other project documentation.
  • Uphold and promote the company’s mission, values, and professional standards in all interactions and decisions.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in construction, project management or related field from an accredited institution is preferred but not required
  • 8+ years of project management experience working in the commercial HVAC industry, sheet metal, piping or controls industry.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems (including laptops and cell phones) and software systems such as Microsoft Office, basic AutoCAD, and estimating software
  • Mechanical H1, H2 and/or H3 licensing is required within 12 months of employment.
  • Ability to pass drug screening
  • Ability to prove US employment eligibility
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing to regularly travel within Brady’s North Carolina territory
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed

This position works in a typical office environment with frequent visits to job sites, which include outdoor work and work in mechanical/equipment rooms. During the job site visits, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
