Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Design Engineer to join our custom circuit design team. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical characterization of ASICs, automation scripting, and working in a lab environment. This role involves setting up and executing silicon validation plans, working closely with design engineers, and automating test processes to ensure efficient data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute electrical characterization of ASICs, including various IP blocks.
• Prepare for silicon arrival by setting up bench characterization stations with evaluation boards and lab equipment.
• Develop software infrastructure to automate the control of various lab equipment remotely.
• Implement IP-level characterization plans through a series of structured tests.
• Perform hands-on testing in the lab, collect and format data, and share insights with the IP team and engineering leads.
• Interface with design engineers to support the implementation of characterization strategies.
• Utilize scripting (Python, Tcl) to automate test procedures and improve efficiency.
• Work with IEEE JTAG standards for circuit testing and debugging.
• Assist with minor board modifications and repairs as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in bench post-silicon validation.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with IEEE JTAG & JTAG standards.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Python scripting.

Preferred Skills:

• Basic knowledge of high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuits.
• Proficiency in Tcl scripting.
• Experience setting up and operating lab equipment.
• Strong understanding of Siemens Tessent DFT tools (a plus).
• Lab technician skills, including soldering and simple board modifications (a plus).
