Pay Rate: $15.00 - $17.00/hour

Priority deadline is April 20th

This is a summer position running from June 15th - August 14th. There are mandatory training days on May 30th, June 1st, June 3rd, June 8th, and June 10th. Attendance throughout the summer is expected, with flexibility for up to a week off.

What You’ll Do

We are looking for fun, energetic, creative individuals to provide a safe environment for our summer day camp participants by providing activities and programs designed specifically for campers! Camp counselors are responsible for direct supervision of campers, will work with staff to address daily needs, will oversee programs and activities, and will participate on field trips. Candidates should act as positive role models, detail oriented, be flexible, and have strong leadership skills.

Candidates will be required to adhere to and enforce all Town of Morrisville and summer camp policies.

Some specific examples include (this is not an exhaustive list and is only for illustration purposes

  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Creates an atmosphere that is fun, safe, friendly, and challenging.
  • Daily set-up, break down, and work with others to sanitize/clean rooms and equipment.
  • Ensure the space and equipment is taken care of, left in good and clean condition.
  • Monitor all participants for safety.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisor, co-workers, participants, and parents/guardians.
  • Document any incident, accident, or behavior information and notify supervisor.
  • Facilitate and lead activities, games, and crafts.
  • Modify activities as needed or provide reasonable accommodation for participation.
  • Attend and participate in required training and staff meetings.
  • Assist with program implementation.
  • Supervise large and small groups of children.
  • Supervise campers on field trips and pool visits.
  • Take daily attendance of campers.
  • Actively involved in games and activities with campers indoors and outdoors.
  • Of course there are always the other duties as assigned category!
The Must Haves (Minimum Qualifications)
  • Enrolled in high school or possess a GED
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Set Yourself Apart (Preferred Qualifications)
  • 1 year of experience as a camp counselor or working with children
