Summary: The Lube Technician is responsible for performing express lube duties on vehicles.
Responsibilities- Adheres to express lube guidelines.
- Performs lube, oil and filter changes by draining and replacing oil and filter, and lubricating all joints, including idler arm steering knuckles, tie rod ends, and ball joints.
- Reports all necessary repairs to service advisor.
- Installs completed LOF reminder sticker in vehicle.
- Checks battery, tire air pressure, windshield fluid, transmission fluid and power steering fluid levels and refills as needed.
- Checks coolant level and refills as necessary.
- Ensures that vehicle is clean and free of fluid residue or fingerprints.
- Checks fluid level prior to release of vehicle to ensure proper levels.
- Maintains CSI at or above Company standards.
- Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.
- Participates in required training.
- Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.
- Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.
- Demonstrates the Company’s Core Values.
- Complies with Company policies and procedures.
- Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education - High School Diploma or equivalent required. GED or higher considered as appropriate per company policy.

Work Experience:
Automotive preferred. Other fields may be considered. - Desired
Work Experience:
up to 3 years (3-5 years or 5+ years not required). - Education/
Experience:
Basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems. Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge. Technical training or commensurate technical experience. - Certificates and Licenses: Valid Driver’s License.
- Computer
Skills:
Basic computer skills to utilize timekeeping system. - Communication
Skills:
Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel. - Attendance Expectations: Regular and predictable attendance required. Shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Frequent talking and hearing; standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaching with arms; and bending, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Environment Demands: Duties performed primarily in the service area; may be exposed to loud noise, fumes, and other service conditions. Frequent interaction with service advisors and service manager.
- Verbal and Writing Ability: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos; ability to present information to customers and employees.
- Math Ability: Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense, follow technical manuals, and handle standardized situations.
